The National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) are vital tools to deliver the Commission’s Energy and Climate ambition, and they should rightfully acknowledge and support energy communities as key actors in a just and equitable transition with adequate targets and measures.
The European Community Power Coalition has written to the Commission to evaluate the extent to which Member States are actively supporting the development of community energy initiatives together with a participatory and transparent revision process, and urge them to put in place targets and measures to do so in their written assessment to the submitted NECP drafts.
