Background
Today millions of European SMEs are facing another inflation and competitiveness crisis, notably driven by unstable, expensive, imported fossil fuels. Energy communities can be a structural, long term shelter, helping citizens, SMEs and local authorities produce and consume their own energy, locally.
Energy communities are gradually making their mark on the European energy system. Nevertheless, these initiatives are often led by citizens or local authorities and less frequently involve SMEs.
Joining an energy community can provide a range of opportunities for SMEs, from access to more stable energy prices via self-consumed renewables, to contributing to ESG goals, as well as further championing their commitment to the local community by engaging with local citizens and municipalities as equal partners.
This webinar will explain what energy communities are, explore what’s the interest for SMEs to engage with an energy community, the successful business cases and provide an overview of the existing opportunities for SMEs to be part of energy communities.
